Meet like-minded people

The strongest indicator of relationship compatibility (in friendship and romance) is a shared primary mode, or way of approaching, understanding and experiencing the world, combined with a shared orientation (inward vs outward), or 'attitude' of the psyche (see below).

The four modes (Dr Carl Jung's four functions of the psyche) are feeler, intuitive, sensate, and thinker; the two orientations, or attitudes, of the psyche are introversion and extroversion, with everybody being somewhere on the scale between introversion and extroversion. Introverts are subject- and inner-world (inward) oriented; extroverts are object- and outer-world (outward) oriented. Dr Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist, described his eight-type model in his book Psychological Types (published as Psychologische Typen in 1921; translated into English in 1923).

This social community website uses the MSS-J16 personality type model (4 modes x 2 orientations = 8 types; with the secondary mode, or auxiliary function, added, there are 16 types), which is an expanded variation of Dr Carl Jung's original eight-type personality model, as the basis of like-mindedness, and hence the optimal way to meet and interact with people where relationship sustainability is the priority.

Where we share a primary mode, there is the possibility that our secondary mode (Jung's auxiliary function), our next-strongest (or second-most conscious) mode, will be different. The potential for complementarity is promoted when we have different secondary and tertiary modes.

Typically, we all have a highly individual modal, or functional stack that describes the order of the four modes, or psychological functions. Our modal stack is individual because the relative contribution of each mode, or psychological function, varies from individual to individual, as does our inner-world/outer-world inclination.

This site proposes a social networking opportunity which is local, regional, national and international. To sustain the site, two forms of usage will be possible: 1. with adverts (and limited support) and 2. without adverts and priority support.

If you are interested in meeting and befriending people based on a shared or complementary way of knowing (cognition) and experiencing life, as well as a shared world (inner- or outer-) orientation, please let us know by submitting our Contact form; please indicate your preference in terms of the two membership types: 1. free with advertising or 2. affordable paid membership.
